Kevin Rechin, a native of the Washington, DC area, enjoyed a childhood shaped by a cartoonist father, whose creativity was only surpassed by a mother juggling seven kids, of which Kevin is the youngest.
After receiving his BFA degree in Communications, Art and Design from VCU in 1989, he worked his way through small daily newspapers and was eventually hired as a staff artist at USA TODAY.
During those years he occasionally indulged in freelance projects, eventually building a substantial clientele. He struck out on his own in 1999. His work has since appeared in most major American publications, including Time, Smithsonian, The Wall Street Journal, Texas Monthly and National Geographic among others. In addition to editorial work, Kevin has pursued a variety of projects in package design, book illustration, animation and graphic recording with clients such as Hasbro, Disney, DreamWorks, Klutz, US Navy, US Air Force, the Newseum, Fox Sports and many others.
